スターフライヤーのデザイン
2006年3月からの就航を予定している新規航空会社のスターフライヤー。このデザインがクールで目を惹いた。コーポレートカラーが黒を基調としたモノトーンで、ファッションブランドの様な感じ。空飛ぶピカチュウは子供には良いけど、ちょいと良い格好したい大人はこっちに乗りたいんじゃないかな。
海外の航空会社ってロゴを始めとして良いデザインのものが多いけど、日本でもやっと特徴のあるのが出てきた。一度サイトを見て頂ければ分かるように機体や内装のデザインはもちろん、どうやら機内で使うものから販売するもの、ラウンジやチケット、会社案内、名刺に至るまでトータルでブランディングデザインされる様な感じ。
デザインはロボットのデザインなんかを手がける、フラワー・ロボティクス代表の松井龍哉氏。（この方、元々建築やってたらしい）
この飛行機、羽田・新北九州空港間を24時間体制で飛行する事により、従来のものよりも本数が増えるので結果的に安くなるというもの。でも安い悪いというイメージではなくて、安いけれども高級感を打ち出している。元々170席の機内を144席に改修して座席間を広くしたり、エコノミークラスのシートにも人間工学に基づいたレザーシート、国内線なのに全席に液晶TVまで装備と快適性を訴えている。
ちょうど「Compact meets luxury」をコンセプトとする日産のTIDAみたいな感じかな。決して値段は高くはないのに上質を訴求して他社との差別化を図ってる。
大手航空会社とは被らないニッチな所を突いて、しかも価格やデザイン、快適性等は他社とは違ったものを提供するという戦略。ちょっと今までの航空業界の価値観を破れるかもしれないので期待したい。一回乗ってみたいなー。
